Editorial Policy

This page explains how NewsPixer produces what it publishes, how we handle other newsrooms’ work, and how to get an error fixed.

Two kinds of page

Index entries summarise a story reported elsewhere in a few lines, name the newsroom that reported it, and link to their article. They exist to send readers to the original. We do not claim authorship, and the canonical link on these pages points at the publisher, telling search engines the story belongs to them.

Our own articles are written by us. They carry a byline, run at full length, and list every source we consulted at the foot of the page. We write these from the facts — what happened, who said what, which figures are disputed — rather than by rewording any single outlet’s article.

How we use other newsrooms’ reporting

Facts are not owned by anyone. The wording used to report them is. We work to that line:

  • We do not reproduce articles from other outlets.
  • Summaries are short, and every one names and links its source.
  • Direct quotations are brief and attributed to the speaker.
  • Where we have used several outlets’ reporting, all of them are credited.

If you are a rights holder and object to anything on this site, write to rights@newspixer.com and we will remove it. We do not require a formal legal notice.

Use of artificial intelligence

We use AI tools to help draft articles from source material we have gathered. Every article produced this way is read, checked and edited by a person before publication, and published under a human byline. We do not publish unreviewed machine-generated text.

AI does not decide what we cover, and it is not used to rewrite other outlets’ articles.

Accuracy and corrections

We get things wrong sometimes, and when we do we fix them quickly and openly.

  • Significant factual errors are corrected and noted at the foot of the article.
  • Minor errors of spelling or grammar are fixed without a note.
  • Articles that cannot be substantiated are removed, with a note explaining why.

To report an error, write to editor@newspixer.com with the web address and a description of the error. We investigate every report.

Independence

NewsPixer is funded by advertising. Advertisers have no say in what we cover. We do not accept payment for coverage, and we do not publish sponsored content presented as reporting.

Sources

We prefer named sources. Where we report information from unnamed sources — usually because another outlet reported it that way — we say so plainly and preserve that hedging rather than presenting it as established fact.
