LeBron James made his pre-season debut for the Philadelphia 76ers in a 114-108 loss to the Brooklyn Nets. The 41-year-old forward played 18 minutes in the first half of his first match since joining the team in July. His arrival comes as Philadelphia aims to secure its first league championship in more than four decades.

During his time on the court, James contributed 10 points, five assists, four rebounds, and one steal. Teammate Jaylen Brown led Philadelphia in scoring with 18 points. James shared the floor with a lineup that featured Joel Embiid, VJ Edgecombe, Tyrese Maxey, and Brown.
Following the game, James noted that the group is still adapting to playing together. He stated that the team’s cohesion “is going to take some time” as players learn how to best complement one another.

Background
James joined Philadelphia in July after eight years with the Los Angeles Lakers. He has indicated that his current contract with the 76ers will be his final contract in the NBA.
Entering a record-extending 24th season, James is the highest point scorer in NBA history. He has won four NBA titles across his career—two with the Miami Heat, one with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and one with the Lakers.
