Which app do you need?

NFL Network

NFL Network carries several nationally televised games during the final preseason week, including Steelers vs. Bills, Rams vs. Chargers, Commanders vs. Ravens, Vikings vs. Broncos, Lions vs. Colts and Bears vs. Titans. NFL Network games are also available through participating TV providers and supported streaming services.

Prime Video

The New England Patriots vs. Cleveland Browns matchup on Thursday, Aug. 27, is scheduled for Prime Video. It is the NFL’s preseason showcase on Amazon before Prime Video’s regular-season Thursday Night Football coverage begins.

CBS

The Cincinnati Bengals vs. Philadelphia Eagles game will receive a national CBS broadcast on Friday night at 8 p.m. ET.

NFL+

NFL+ is another option for preseason viewers. Availability can depend on location, broadcast restrictions and the specific game. The NFL’s official viewing guide provides personalized availability based on a fan’s location and TV or streaming provider.

For fans outside the United States, availability can be different. DAZN’s NFL Game Pass, for example, carries preseason games internationally, with availability varying by territory.

What Time Does NFL Preseason Week 4 Start?

The final preseason schedule begins Thursday, Aug. 27, with the Steelers visiting the Bills at 7 p.m. ET. Three additional games follow that night, including Patriots-Browns at 8 p.m., 49ers-Raiders at 8 p.m. and Rams-Chargers at 10 p.m.

Friday features the largest slate, with 10 games beginning at 6 p.m. ET. The preseason then concludes Saturday with Lions-Colts at 1 p.m. and Bears-Titans at 6 p.m.

Why the Final Preseason Games Matter

The final preseason games can be especially important for players competing for roster spots. With teams preparing to reduce their rosters, coaches use these games to evaluate backup quarterbacks, rookies, special-teams players and players fighting for the final spots on the 53-man roster.

For established starters, playing time can be limited or eliminated entirely. The final preseason weekend is therefore often more about evaluating depth and position battles than showcasing star players.

Best Games to Watch

Several matchups stand out from the final preseason slate.

Steelers at Bills — Thursday’s opening game gives fans an early look at two AFC teams before the regular season.

Patriots at Browns — This is the Thursday night Prime Video matchup and one of the week’s nationally available games.

Bengals at Eagles — Friday’s CBS broadcast gives this matchup a prominent national television window.

Lions at Colts — Saturday’s early game is nationally televised on NFL Network.

Bears at Titans — The preseason finale is scheduled for Saturday evening and will also air nationally on NFL Network.

Can You Watch NFL Preseason Games Without Cable?

Yes. Depending on the game and your location, fans can use services such as NFL+, Prime Video, supported live-TV streaming services, local network apps and participating team platforms.

For nationally televised games, the streaming option depends on the network carrying the matchup. NFL Network games generally require access to NFL Network through a participating provider, while Prime Video games require an Amazon Prime Video subscription.

The NFL’s official Ways to Watch guide can also personalize the available games based on your location and television provider.

NFL Preseason Week 4 Schedule: Quick Takeaway

The final preseason weekend offers one last chance to watch NFL teams before the games start counting in the standings. With 16 games from Aug. 27-29, fans have plenty of football to choose from.

For the easiest viewing experience, check your local team’s broadcast information first, then look for national coverage on NFL Network, Prime Video, CBS or NFL+. Because local availability can vary, checking the NFL’s official viewing guide shortly before kickoff is recommended.

Editor’s note: The NFL officially labels the Aug. 27-29 slate Preseason Week 3 in its 2026 schedule. The term “Week 4” is commonly used by fans and publishers because the Hall of Fame Game creates a fourth week of preseason football.

Injuries and standings

Check the injury report before kickoff for any late changes, and the standings update automatically once Sunday’s games are final.
